▐███▄▄ ▐███▀▄
██▌▄▀█ through the garage explosion in 1997/8, dj quest aka ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ marcus britnell started producing mainly drum 'n' ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ bass. while never being into the nu-skool sound, ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ which he always thought was a bit soulless and too ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ 'techy', he thought there was something missing at ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ the 130 (bpm) tempo. with there being garage and nu ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ skool, he thought there could be something in the ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ middle incorporating more drum 'n' bass, more soul ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ like garage and through that frustration of not ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ liking any of the tunes out there is how his early ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ material came about. ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ with his music being classed as very drum 'n' ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ bass/hardcore influenced, these scenes although too ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ young to go out raving back in the day have become a ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ strong foundation for his sound. ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ starting off his production career with his label, ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ pulse recordings, it was him and his brother who ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ were making tunes and through not thinking any one ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ would like their stuff ,played it to a few friends ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ who dj'd in the local garage clubs, and who ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ subsequently liked their tunes and cut them and ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ found to be that the ravers really liked it. from ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ this, they thought 'what the hell' and started up ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ their own label, which was about three years ago ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ now. ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ since then, tracks like "warship" and "old skool" ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ (produced with kalibre) have defined the dj quest ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ sound, and followed from that have been releases on ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ deeklines rat records, (most notably his debut ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ album), hardcore beats, cyberfunk, funkatech, ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ wireframe, pulse, sinewave, botchit and scarper the ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ list is endless. ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ more recently, there has been the introduction of ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ the cybersquaed's labels, cyberfunk and funkatech in ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ which all the emphasis will be concentrated on with ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ co-owners, ben coupland and dj mutiny. watch out for ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ their stuff, you will be pleasantly surprised. ░██▌▄▀
