Release Notes:
Testcard are an electropop trio based in Liverpool. Formed
from members of shadowy audiovisual art promoters The Hive
Collective and Probe Plus recording artists Marlowe, they have
become stalwarts of a thriving DIY art scene in the city Their
debut album Lines is released on June 2nd.

`Lines' melds power pop, future disco and pristine Italo to
soundtrack poignant tales of modern urban life. Each pulsing
track coolly observes thi contradictions of contemporary
relationships, the machine inside the heart; the heart inside
the machine. Soaring soulful vocals and a love of pure pop
help Testcard swerve the electropop stereotype though; empathy
and optimism shine through these pop gems. `

"On a clear night you can see the lights stretching out for
miles from here. It might only be the glow from streetlights,
shopping centres and houses but it's beautiful, in its own
way. A monotone orange Las Vegas, marking out the lines where
all the significant wins, losses and indiscretions of my life
have taken place. I was born here on the 6th of November 1975.
There's nothing to distinguish the spot. No blue plaque, no
spontaneous graffiti from well wishers, just a nest of damp,
flattened cardboard pact aging in a car park where the
maternity unit used to be. I pass it sometimes. Just a car
park. Identical to thousands of others which scar Britain's A
roads, industrial estates and retail outlets. In another life
this place was a symbol of Victorian civic benevolence, a
monument to scientific advancement overlooking the expanding
city. Today it's a drop off point where minicabs
unload-see-through pensioners for pre-op appointments and
patients in slippers and dressing gowns.smoke sneaky
cigarettes. Don't get me wrong, I'm not adverse to change and
I like the sense of anonymity when I stand here. From here,
those, orange lines still suggest endless possibilities..."
