      One of the most prominent big bands of the '40s in Sweden was the one led
      by Lulle Ellboj. It contained such outstanding musicians as saxophonists
      Arne DomnΘrus and G÷sta Theselius, trumpeter Rolf Ericson, pianist Rolf
      Larsson and drummer Henry Wallin, to mention only a few. The music on this
      CD comes from some of the many radio broadcasts the band made from the big
      Stockholm dance hall Vinterpalatset. It is impossible to miss the
      enthusiasm and excitement which the band generated, and in comparison to
      what was otherwise being played in Sweden at that time one can understand
      how advanced the orchestra's music was considered by critics and fans. The
      main soloists are G÷sta Theselius, Rolf Ericson and Rolf Larsson. Most of
      the arrangements are by G÷sta Theselius and Gunnar LundΘn-Welden. The CD
      contains 24 titles and over 73 minutes of swinging Swedish big band jazz
      of the '40s at its best!
