One idea behind this single release was that it allowed Mateo & Matos
to have their favourite producers re-interpret their work.
After the classic garage of KOT, the pounding loops of Dj Sneak and
the dark and twisted sound of The Freaks, the jazzy touch of Jersey
Street was next in line. Here Manchester's up'n'coming production
outfit take the Mats' rough and ready original and work their latin
magic with it. Their 'Classic Vocal' takes XXX's well delivered vocal
and wraps it up in a hotbed of congas and live bass before adding
some freestyle piano and soaring strings to top the package off.
