Alongside "The Outstanding Story Of Mr. Mallory", the
Post-Industrial Trompeter shows another face of his music
thanks to this other work, released in collaboration with
Butcher's House Production (Macelleria Mobile Di Mezzanotte's
own label). Science fiction, aliens, monsters, delirium and
madness are the ingredients of "TrompoZmo", a really
mastodontic record that will test your ears and resistance, as
the elements thrown into the cauldron are so many.
Initial "Crop Circles" is one of the best tracks assembled by
our trumpet player, with its fascinating electronic maze and
effects wisely constructed and crossed by the characteristic
wind instrument. "Tupholatsy, The Sad, White Hearted Dragon" is
another small masterpiece of extraterrestrial jazz, its
atmosphere is extremely disturbing (remembrance of the early
solo Graeme Revell seem to emerge). Macelleria Mobile Di
Mezzanotte's bloody hand contribute to raise the violence tax
in "Disturbo", while the 10 m 30 s of "Mind Control Program"
will practice you a frontal lobotomy. The listener is given no
instant of release, as immediately after his/her ears are cut
into little pieces by the title-track's noise sabres, the
anxious crescendo of "Ice Monster", the android and crepuscular
blues of "Gojira", leading to end titles with epic and
disturbing "Vampyra".
The CD is further enriched by two tracks originally featured on
the ultra-limited and unavailable box set "Noi E Il Mondo",
published by Novy Svet's label Nekofutschata: "Alien Cat On A
Desert Mind" and the tremendous "I Went Home". In the end,
while "The Outstanding Story Of Mr. Mallory" represents a
successful attempt to experiment with the structure of concept
album, "TrompoZmo" is a collection of single tracks, all of
very high level.
Both works are recommended to deepen the knowledge of the
brilliant sound manipulator who is Der Bekannte Post
Industrielle Trompeter.
