|   |  New Madrid-based label Semantica is certainly enjoying strong      |   |
|   |  early form. In addition to the Andy Stott and Fibla mixes of       |   |
|   |  Vladislav Delay's 'Recovery IDea', the label has paired the        |   |
|   |  original track with a remix by Svreca, the imprint's owner. It     |   |
|   |  would seem Sasu Ripatti has an endless supply of production        |   |
|   |  talent to call upon: 'Recovery IDea' is yet another bottomless     |   |
|   |  pit of low end minimalism, imbued with drifting ambient tones and  |   |
|   |  spasming echo deck manipulations. To call the clattering,          |   |
|   |  obliterated percussion anything so humdrum as a beat would be      |   |
|   |  doing it a great disservice, but you wouldn't really want to       |   |
|   |  brand the track as ambient either. There's definitely a solid      |   |
|   |  rhythmic framework presiding over this infrastructure of bass,     |   |
|   |  reverberation and electroacoustic pulsation, but there's           |   |
|   |  certainly nothing conventional about it. As back up the Svreca     |   |
|   |  remix does a fine job of reinterpreting the original via a more    |   |
|   |  emphatically dub-styled angle, whilst not tampering with the       |   |
|   |  winning formula too heavily. Excellent stuff.                      |   |
