- Release Notes ------------------------------------------------------------- -
The Winter Mission began under a different moniker (Earth Stood Still) during
the fall of 2005 by Wes, Nate, Jay, Erik, and Darris. Unfortunately, Darris
left the band to concentrate on his other group, a grindcore outfit dubbed
Network of Terror. After Darris' departure, The Winter Mission continued on
as a four-piece with no bassist. Following Darris' decision to leave, Erik
also decided to leave the band in order to focus on school. Will (formerly of
Farewar) was quickly added to the line-up to replace Erik. From here, the
band began writing new material and entered The Sound Barn Studios with John
Harrell behind the boards to record their newest EP "Pretend It's Fiction".
Following the release of "Pretend It's Fiction", Jay decided to exit the
group. Ian and Chris (both formerly of Jumping The Shark/Romeo Is Bleeding)
joined the band in spring of 2007 playing guitar and bass, respectively. With
a newly solidified line-up and fresh off the release of their latest EP, The
Winter Mission are poised to capture the attention of new fans across North
Carolina and the rest of the world!
