Release Notes:

Formed in October 2005 and playing their fist
dates in January
2006...
the band all attend the same Secondary School in
Birmingham, England.

'Follow Me Down', the girl's debut mini-album is
released on July
16th by Reveal following a thrilling year for the
self-styled tuff-tots.

They have gigged with The Horrors and The Wedding
Present, broadcast a
live session from the studio of BBC6 Music's Marc
Riley, played
all-nighters in Mayfair for The Queens Of Noize,
modelled for Cosmo
Girl and been featured in all of the press generated
by the recent
upsurge in 'underage' bands and club nights... from
The Observer Music Monthly
and The Guardian to Artrocker and the NME. They can
count amongst their
fanclub several of those who's recordings have been
a huge
influence...Mary Weiss of The Shangri-La's, Sweet
and Blondie producer Mike
Chapman and The Raincoats Gina Birch.

Their first single, a limited edition 7 inch on
Reveal's 'singles
club' label Kiss of Death sold out within days of
it's release.

'Follow Me Down' was recorded in Birmingham and
mastered by Shimmy
Disc's Kramer at his Noise Miami Studio in Florida.
The album collects six
songs - all band compositions - that fully represent
their diverse
influences: The driving psychedelic sea-shanty of
'The Lips of Cleopatra', the
big-top swirl and irresistable hooks of 'Electro
Bitch', 'Jezebel's girl-group
harmonies and Regent Sound take on the Bo Diddley
beat and the fairy-tale in
waltz-time of the title track.

No, they aren't influenced by that interchangeable
lad's band that you
used to think were sort of 'OK'... and yes, they
are rather
remarkable.

Poppy and The Jezebels were filmed by BBC TV for a
documentary that follows the girls as they make
their first video.
This will screen nationally during the month of the
mini-album's
release and the band will play selected dates around
the country throughout
the year.

With a young Marianne Faithful on vocals,
a New York Doll on drums, a dream-girl on keyboards
and a
Guitarist who looks like the girl that was too cool
to be in the
Carrie Nations they're infinately watchable, like a
benign warrior gang. As
though, if you left these girls on a island in 'Lord
of The Flies'
and not boys, they'd form a band and take over the
world.
