Release Notes:
The People formed in the summer of 2002 and consist
of Gavin Piercy; guitar and vocals, Simon Graham;
bass and backing vocals, Craig Moyes; guitar and
backing vocals, and Ewan Paton; on drums. Influenced
by the likes of Captain Beefheart, Love, Bob Dylan,
and Howlin' Wolf, their sound consists of a fusion
of Folk, Blues, and Roots music, with their lyrics
addressing such issues as love, isolation, poverty,
and class. They have gigged around Glasgow since
their conception and recently have started to
venture further afield to appease the growing demand
throughout Scotland. Their self-titled debut album
was released on the 31st January 2005 through
independant Hijacked Records. The band continue to
develop their sound searching for new soundscapes
and writing new songs which continue to draw on the
successes of the past, whilst venturing into the
possibilities of the future. A single to follow in
the near future, followed in the not so distant
future by a new album. New album "Desire, The Devil,
and The Ghost" release date - 3rd September 2007
