Release Notes:
BackBeat is a band of young men who play as a
Beatles tribute band and who released an a HIGHLY
recommended debut under the name of Story (it's on
the site - check it out!). BackBeat, while a Beatle
tribute band, does not sound like one on
"Eye-Dentity" but it's a *real* pop record, for
sure. This release reminds me a lot of The Romantics
1980-1983 when they turned up the guitars a bit but
still had a great knack for great singles and big
hooks. Listen to Song #2 below for good example of
this. There's no doubt this young lads have spent a
lot of time digesting 70s bands on top of the
Merseybeat as each song brings out a different side
of their inspirations in a most healthy, vibrant
manner. Punchy, poppy, upbeat tunes, expertly
delivered and recorded by a ground of young veterans
who are going to be making great, great music for
many years to come.
