:: varying rock genres in music over the last 3 decades.
:: Although her natural versatile voice and honest songwriting
:: style has always retained poppy melodic sensibilities, her
:: roots vary, encompassing mid 70Æs to early eighties
:: alternative rock, the Seattle grunge era and early nineties
:: alternative movement right up to todayÆs with a little
:: electronic influence displayed by the of which she However
:: the colourful character to her voice led her also down paths
:: within the country scene which she learned to love very much
:: during the early experimental periods of her musical life.
:: The level of influence of these periods can be sometimes
:: heard within her music and indefinable singing style.

:: The magic of JulieÆs musical journey was that through shear
:: determination and perseverance she finally found like minded
:: musicians and producers who could instinctively realize
:: JulieÆs ideas. This immediate musical connection gave her
:: the inner confidence, whilst writing, to incorporate and
:: experiment with certain aspects of the genres of music she
:: had fallen in love with since a child. This invaluable
:: connection inspires her to continue exploring knew directions
:: with every new song she writes during her ongoing
:: development. Her open minded, free spirited approach to
:: music means she is continually keen to profoundly explore the
:: possibilities of crossing styles within her ability as not to
:: stick to a specific genre and limit the creativity. Julie,
:: during one interview explaining the musical process said
:: ôWhilst working with so many individual characters I tend
:: just to allow the music to flow in whichever direction it
:: takes and not to restrict any personÆs influence on the song
:: but to let them run with it. This is why it makes it so
:: much fun to work with different characters that offer their
:: own individual style dictated by their personal influences.
:: This is the beauty of collaborating in this way and the
:: reason why I make music, I do it for the big family feeling
:: and satisfaction that everyone is working towards producing

:: This instant collaborative approach with the band, that were
:: initially employed by her producer Armin Djalli for live
:: promotion only, one and a half years ago, lead her to writing
:: her first single ôOne Dayö during their first rehearsal
:: period. The immediate positive response to this song and the
:: ease with which the song was written was an immediate
:: indication that these were the people Julie wanted to
:: continue working with. This was also recognized by Armin who
:: therefore decided to sign her to his German record label
:: Ultra records and encouraged her to begin working harder on
:: the live seen to promote the single and other material she
:: was working on with him at the time, with radio promotions
:: and key spots at music festivals up and down the country.
:: Therefore last year she and her dynamic band blasted on to
:: the German live circuit for the first time with a mini tour,
:: boosting her fan base in every city with their impressive
:: energetic show. This gave Julie the chance to absorb how the
:: people were really responding to her and her music with
:: continuing support from the press who followed, by featuring
:: her and her shows wherever they could. Wanting to extend and
:: update her show Julie, Armin and her band continued to write
:: during this period in every spare moment. This led to the
:: recording of her first album ôA language of new rulesö
:: referring to her life in a new country and the relationships
:: formed within varying circumstances through belief, trust,
:: creativity and friendship that was all very new to her at
:: this time.

:: ôA Language of new rulesö deals with many emotional
:: experiences that Julie has endured during her time and before
:: she arrived in Germany. It deals with her reaction to her
:: new environment, indulges in affairs of the heart and
:: expresses her thoughts, as an outsider on situations that
:: involve people very close to her, of which she feels very
:: strongly about. In particular the ongoing sadness and
:: helplessness she feels for a dear friend battling with ME
:: inspired her to write "Breathe". This song is her own
:: interpretion and insight to how she feels her close friend is
:: dealing with this unfortunate and frustrating illness. As she
:: wishes to continue supporting and raise more awarenes, she
:: will be donating a percentage of the record sales to the
:: research of this illness.
