Crabs are Scavengers began in March 2006 as the unexpected byproduct of forced
learned nursery rhymes. Mnemonic lessons aside, we were able to capitalize on
these rhythmic patterns to create a sonic resonance yielding not to undue
commonalities but further confronting our adolescent history of cataloging every
aspect of human life pertinent to societal development of the most well-behaved
citizens and exploiting these discoveries to maximize our learning capabilities.
By layering one summer lesson upon another, Sean McDougle, Jeremy Melton, Chris
Watson, and Jacob Ducote created a melodic pattern that could easily be
recognized as its own, yet sit well in the minds of passive listeners and
show-goers alike. This repulsive method resulted in two packaged releases; an EP
and a full-length album by Crabs are Scavengers, made available for purchase on
March 24, 2007 thanks in part to the efforts of Sugar Snap Records. The EP,
aptly titled 'Human Fashion', reveals Crabs are Scavengers in their developing
stage and includes the first seven songs the band ever wrote together. The debut
full-length album, 'Apple Tree Thief', introduces a band confident in their
abilities as musicians with plenty of youthful willingness to dive deep and
recover a fresh, clean sound from the musical depths that is not often captured
in the local pond. The albumªs minor success and attention prompted Crabs are
Scavengers to embark on a regional tour of the eastern United States, resulting
in further debt and a budding regional fan base. Currently, Crabs are Scavengers
remains enjoyable to its four ambitious members as we plan on continuing to play
live and continue writing material for a forth-coming release. Thanks for all
