DA Posse was formed by Hula, K Fingers, Martell and Maurice. Their
early tracks like 'In The Life' were mostly based on old Rhythm Is
Rhythm records, but 'Searchin Hard', a deep house song on Dance
Mania records led them to a deal with Dave Lee's Republic Records,
for whom they eventually recorded an excellent album. Later the
core members Hula and Fingers formed their own label, Clubhouse
Records which became an essential part of underground house history
fostering talents like Cajmere, Lidell Townsell, Ron Trent and
Braxton.
This slice of acid wax is a bit of a departure from the label sound
but shows clearly how Clubhouse would push things forward. Discogs
and the record label don't say but we're gonna go out on a limb and
say this is the early work of Canada's Stickmen who would go on to
do great things.
