If you need any more convincing that the
dance-rock fusion genre has taken over the
underground and is moving rapidly to the
aboveground look no further than this fantastic
compilation of fresh sounds by some of the best
new bands on the festival circuit.
ItÆs ironic the way pop culture goes in cycles.
In the late 70s and early 80s, new wave gave birth
to a whole new scene in N.Y where artists like
Gang of Four, Yoko Ono, Talking Heads, The Ramones
and The B-52's found a home while Britain was in
the midst of the raging punk of groups like the
Sex Pistols.
Now 30 years later, the sound of that era is
circling back into focus ushering in a new
generation of indie stars like The Gossip, New
Young Pony Club and Datarock
