Following up their debut single 'Hummingbird', Born Ruffians' latest offering 'I
Need A Life' finds the Canadian indie rockers taking Warp Records further than
ever from the label's roots, fashioning a blend of playful drum riffs, jagged
guitars and peppy, upbeat vocals aligned somewhere between Jack Penate and
Vampire Weekend. The B-side comes in the shape of an 'acoustic session' version
of 'Hummingbird', although it's not actually acoustic at all, instead it's a
strummy, amplified rendition that's effective and intimate all the same.
