Release Notes:

Domino Records are releasing a comprehensive retrospective of
legendary New Yorkers Liquid Liquid. Slip in and out of
Phenomenon drops in late May.

The output of the percussive four-piece might be tiny, but the
band╞s influence on modern punk-funk has been strong: Scottish
discoists Optimo named themselves after a Liquid Liquid track,
while bands like The Rapture and LCD Soundsystem owe a huge
debt to Liquid╞s cowbell-loving repetitive grooves. For a
taste of Liquid Liquid, check the 1983 video for µCavern╞
below, the bassline of which will be familiar to Grandmaster
Flash fans - it was sampled for µWhite Lines (Don't Do It)╞, a
borrowing which later became subject to a expensive lawsuit
(Liquid Liquid lost, a decision which partially led to the
demise of the band in 1984).

The CD and 3x12÷ vinyl compiles all three of Liquid Liquid╞s
original 99 Records EPs with ten previously unreleased bonus
tracks. All tracks have been digitally remastered, and the
artwork is designed by band member Richard McGuire.
