Limited to a measly 150 copies, this fabulous single is a preview of what we can
expect from the second album by EL Perro Del Mar. After the brilliance of Sarah
Assbring's eponymous debut from a couple of years back it's heartening to find
it was no one off. The vocal is the real deal clincher. Assbring's slightly
aloof, mournful harmonies are captivating right from the start, and even the
weird, bluesy recorder riffs can't sabotage the song's magic. The exclusive
B-side 'You Hit Me (It's A Crying Shame)' threatens to steal the show
altogether, it's haunting organ and piano combination packing quite an emotional
punch (pun very much intended) when in conjunction with Assbring's icy voice.
