Laurent Garnier Live From Club Risk...
Radio538 did broadcast a classic set from Laurent from 1997.
-= LAURENT GARNIER =-
The story started in 1987 at Manchesters Hacienda, where
Laurent GARNIER cut his teeth. Back in France on year
later, he quickly assumed the reputation of Flying DJ,
guesting at the most famous clubs and raves in Germany,
Belgium, Holland, U.K, Switzerland, Scandinavia and
Spain.s
Laurent is still however dying to pump two dance floors
: Sound Factory in New York and and any club in Tokyo...
Selected in 93 and 94 as one of the Best DJs in the
world by MixMag and the main European dance magazines,
Laurent GARNIER is aslo the man behind the famous
Parisian House Party, Wake Up at the Rex Club.
Laurent's first international dancefloor hit was also a
track called 'Wake Up'. His first ever release was
French Connection on the Eastern label, back in 1990. In
late 1991, Laurent was the first artist to join
FNAC-DANCE DIVISION and immediately became the leader of
the French House scene and world-wide ambassador of the
French touch.
After several important releases on the lable, such as
╟Acid Eiffel╚, ╟Wake Up╚, ╟Alaska╚ and numerous remixes
and collaborations, Laurent quit FNAC. In May 1994 he
set up his own label F with Eric MORAND (ex FNAC A&R).
F001 'DUNE', the first release on F, is a collaboration
with DJ Pascal FEOS.
His first album Shot in the Dark has the highest reached
positions in European indie charts and has been released
in more than 10 foreign countries. The brand new EP
╟Club Traxx╚, very dance floor orientated was released
in December 95.
New experience for Laurent, he mixed the music for the
fashionshow of Jean Charles de Castelbajac (autum/winter
97 collection) at the Louvre in Paris. January is the
release of his new single 'Crispy Bacon' described by
almost Dance Magazine as one of the best techno tune
ever, rocking every clubs, every parties all around the
world. 'Flashback' was the second single taken from the
album '30'. As 'Crispy bacon', it rocked the dancefloor.
Now, after 10 years of Djing all over the world, Laurent
is having a rest, but he is still working on his live
project, scheduled for spring 98.
