Glasgow's ace boutique imprint Mighty Robot does the dirty do with an
ace four track EP from the mysterious English Electric. The twelve opens
with the sick Italo joint 'Monarch', a slack and dirty Disco mover with
arpeggiated ambitions and some floor alleviating synth-led breakdowns,
but it's 'DRM' that really takes it out there into deep (synth) space
with a tribute to John Carpenter that easily stands up next to Steve
Moore's work as Zombi. Dicky Trisco's remix of 'DRM' pumps up the energy
levels with a tough but faithful electro rhythm attached to the
Vangelis/Carpenter synthwork while 'George et Jim' gives props to
Giorgio Moroder with some prime slow disco vibes to round out a top EP.
Sophisticatedly dark disco business.
