apparat (aka sascha ring, living in berlin) functions as follows:
with the assistance of random modulation algorithms, sound files
are repeatedly manipulated at unpredictable instances. since even
the most sophisticated apparatus cannot be perfect, the
computations may occasionally contain errors. these flaws present
welcome clashes with the more listener-friendly audio data.

mr ring's 2001 debut on shitkatapult was calculated using
algorithms from 1999 / 2000. it was recorded at tracnet studio
berlin and mastered by robert henke.
