██ Nobody could have expected in the eighties that Johan ██
██ Gielen would become a world famous DJ fifteen years after ██
██ his first appearance behind the turntables. At his very ██
██ moment the Belgium b0rn Gielen rules almost every ██
██ dancefloor on the planet and as a producer he allready ██
██ made several classics. Although his professional carreer ██
██ started many years ago, 2002 has been a year he'll never ██
██ forget. First of all the long awaited artistalbum of ██
██ Svenson And Gielen saw daylight, but 2002 also showed a ██
██ remarkable grow of Johan's popularity as a DJ. He took the ██
██ Benelux by storm and almost every Dutch clubber must have ██
██ seen the blond trancemaster at least once in his live. ██
██ Besides that he entered the prestegious DJ Magazine top ██
██ 100 at number 50, and started to become a household name ██
██ in the European scene. ██

██ I was very suprised to see my name at spot 50. Personally ██
██ i'm not very impressed by DJ-lists, but it seems that they ██
██ do have an important impact. The direct result is that you ██
██ get more bookings from abroad, "Gielen says. Last year i ██
██ played at well known Britsh clus like Gatecrasher and God's ██
██ Kitchen and everbody expects Gielen to break England And ██
██ America soon, since the release of Svenson And Gielen's ██
██ 'The Beauty Of Silence' is planned for the comming months. ██
██ In the meantime the fourth single album - 'Beach Breeze ██
██ (Remember The Summer)' with vocalist Jan Johnston - is out ██
██ now, and will undoubted be the next floorfiller from there ██
██ hands. "i can't wait to see worldwide release of the album ██
██ is was a bit hit in Holland. Sven and I have proven that ██
██ we've evolved a lot as producers, and since a while we have ██
██ our own identity and style." ██

██ Johan Gielen started Dj-ing at an age of 17 and after a few ██
██ residencies in Belgium clubs, he moved to Tokyo where he ██
██ spinned his records six days a week at Club Velfarre. Five ██
██ years after his Japanese adventure Gielen has DJ-ed at ██
██ every big event in Holland like Mysteryland And ██
██ Trance Energy. Abroad he's in some countries a rising star, ██
██ and in other countries a respected name in the clubscene. ██
██ Every now and then he travels to Norway, Denmark, Japan, ██
██ England, Americam South Africa and Spain. "Mabye i've ██
██ played Holland to much this year, so I want to concentrate ██
██ more on the rest of the world. Especially England and ██
██ America are places were I want to play more often." After ██
██ teaming up with studio partner Sven Maes, Johan produced ██
██ countless dancetracks - under the names Airscape, Boccaccio ██
██ Life, Body Heat, And DJ Don and Svenson - and did remixes ██
██ for artists like Boy George, Vanessa Mea, ATB, Safri Duo, ██
██ Venga Boys, DJ Tiesto, Chicane and Scooter. ██

██ Being never satisfied with his current status and always ██
██ looking into the future, Johan Gielen allready has set his ██
██ goals for this year. Allthough his live as a DJ and producer ██
██ is more hectic then ever, he's still extremely ambitious. ██
██ "It takes a lot of energy and time. Unfortunately a day has ██
██ 24 hours and i need atleast 28 hours to reach my goals. But ██
██ I don't complain, because lots of people can only dream about ██
██ a career like i have." One of his goals is to realize the ██
██ long term wish to make music for films and soundtracks. ██
██ Another one is to release a Johan Gielen album later this ██
██ year. "I only have a vague idea how it should sound like - a ██
██ combination of trance and techno - and i don't know who'll ██
██ colaborate on it. It'll take a lot of blood, sweat and tears ██
██ to complete the album, but i can't wait to finish this new ██
██ shapter in my career." ██
