Sydney producer Rephrase releases the follow up to his second album æLittle
VictoriesÆ exactly 54 weeks after he wowed us in 2007 and boy, has he kept busy
in that short amount of time.
With a list of production and remixes that would make your head spin, Rephrase
has appeared over the last fourteen months on vinyl, CD and online for labels
from Britain, The US, Greece, Australia, Belgium and Austria and covered genres
from classic chill-out to bone-tingling breaks. All of those remixes and
returned favours are included here, as well as some new, fresh-out-the-box
goodies appearing for the first time. Many remix albums kinda suck and are
mostly suited for club Djs, so for your listening pleasure we have split the
chilled songs from the club bangers over 2 discs, making this quite the tidy
little package.

Overseas highlights of the package include the Hip Hop Soul of All Good Funk
AllianceÆs æNow LatelyÆ (Summer anthem alert), the punchy horns of fellow Yank
Danny MassureÆs æMamma DidnÆt LieÆ and the sublime head nodder æAfrofunkÆ from
Timewarp Inc.

Locally, the efforts are doubled as our friends deliver storming interpretations
from the æLittle VictoriesÆ album. Edseven breaks the afro-bruk of æWhat
HappensàÆ in to a thousand million pieces and Noodles & Noel Boogie get stoned
on original fave æJellyjamÆ (referred to here as æJellydubÆ.) This album is as
much of a snapshot of the worldwide funky breaks community as it is the greater
Australian soul production scene and will certainly either put some Rephrase
fans on to the new breed of up and coming talent or encourage them to
investigate some artists they may have missed.

RephraseÆs live act ranges from a Dj set, to live MPC, FX and sax, to a three
man sound system comprising keys and turntablism along with the button pushing
and kick-ass brass. The Rephrase live show has shared the stage with Breakestra,
Freddie Cruger, Grey Boy, Kero One and many more and frequently travels across
the country to join like-minded heads like FDEL, Funk Club, the Got Funk crew
and many many more.

Look out for a US vinyl release of remixes off this album from South City
Recordings in February as well as a local release of faves from the original
æLittle VictoriesÆ album too. And is that OUR Rephrase popping up on cheeky UK
12ö label Good Groove? Finally, an abridged æLittle Victories RemixedÆ set will
be available on iTunes in support of æSwaps'.
