The newest album from Haunted House, in all its home-made glory
with xerox artwork and burned to a TDK CDR.
Haunted House is here to prove that popular rock doesn't have to
be stale and unoriginal. This band shows that music can be
accessible but also unique. "When I hear music that really
connects with me, I feel like I have angel wings coming out of my
back and I'm flying over a fucking tropical island as the sun
sets, eventually soaring through the doors of a dance club and
hovering over the floor as I bathe in the disco lights." Such
imagery is strong and an equally strong reaction can be expected
from a Haunted House audience as they soak in the refreshing and
sometimes startling compositions of this doggedly determined band,
out to alter the face of boring pop. Repetition is the backup of
missing talent. Haunted House wants to be an original band and
wants to be a band whose songs are original each time out. An
original idea repeated over and over is no longer original. So
this group wants each of its songs to stand on its own and have
something specific to say to the listener. Haunted House wants its
music to remind you of a million things at once, to be unique
while referencing reality from all angles. Such artistic attempts
require talent galore or failure will occur. Haunted House has yet
to fail so the reader can determine for him- or herself the talent
quotient of Haunted House. One listen is all it takes. From the
banal to the beautiful, Haunted House draws inspiration from a
wide variety of sources. People Magazine and nature ... It seems
an odd combination. Of course, nature is understandable. There's
nothing so sublime as nature (except maybe music, which is part of
nature in its glory), but People Magazine? It's not as shallow an
influence as it might seem. Haunted House actually draws
sociological inspiration from it. "I'm very interested in money,
fame and the effect that it has on society, as well as the clash
between high rolling/champagne limo city life and the
countryside." People Magazine and nature ... Haunted House has
already released La Vida Es Dificil Pero Bonita Cuando Hace Sol Y
El Cielo Es Una Mierda, which has since sold out but faces
possible re-release. The next album, Upper Class Red White and
Living, is set to come out in a limited, hand-made edition. What
proves more than anything the strong abilities of Haunted House is
that it is able to inject thriving new life into something as
regurgitated as pop.
