Nuff delayed release for this killer summertime jazzed up french
swingtime tune from Matthew Herbert's ever genius Doctor Rockit
alias. 'Veselka's Diner' is similar to 'CafΘ De Flore' in many
respects but with much more going on - Peter Wraight's sublime horn
playing across flute, flugelhorn, bass clarinet fused with
Matthew's piano and accordion all flowing together like a dolphin
dipping and diving through fresh clean waters - and the clicky fat
beat pumps seductively for the whole length. Too good -
unbelievable tuneage. The short vignettes, 'The Generation Waltz'
and 'CafΘ De Flore (Trio Reprise)' are great then it's on to the
introduction of a new group : Transformer, Matthew alongside
Richard Vine and Neil Badminton - 'Idle Pop' is electro pop
wreckage in sound, edgy beats, twangy clicks - deep bass, mad stabs
and pop schlock attacking lyrics. Ace, goodbye Radioboy hello
Transformer. CD version add's the Charles Webster remix of 'CafΘ De
Flore'. Massive music, wicked artwork soon come the big band blast.
