The independent record label Lo Recording will
release on June 9 the third album of the Black
Devil Disco Club, entitled "Eight on Eight". The
record is essentially a sort of an electronic
reinterpretation of the disco sound typical of the
70's. The record includes 6 tracks which have been
described as an artistic encounter between painter
Salvador Dal∞ and musician Cerrone. Some of the
tracks will be then remixed by cult figures like
Hercules & Love Affair, Radio Slave and Paul
Woolford. The new mini- album follows previous
works "28 after" and debut record "Disco Club" (in
the picture, the record┤s cover). Apparently, the
album was originally published as a limited
edition in 1978 by a mysterious Italian label, and
later became a cult object for collectors. The
album was later relaunched by Rephlex. Despite the
genuine inspiration, the record was actually part
of a marketing strategy aiming to launch French
producers Bernard Fevre and Jackie Giordano.
Apart from that, records released by Black Devil
Disco Club have obtained a remarkable success, and
are acclaimed by fans of the electronic-disco
music.s
