█ New Age composer John Adorney began studying █
█ music at age nine -- although his first █
█ instrument was the cello, within two years he'd █
█ also acquired a guitar, profoundly influenced by █
█ the Beatles and the British Invasion they █
█ launched. He additionally learned the piano, and █
█ went on to study classical music at the █
█ University of Connecticut; a tenure with an █
█ ethnic dance troupe followed before Adorney █
█ relocated to Denver during the late 1970s, █
█ becoming a fixture of the local folk circuit. He █
█ next moved to Los Angeles, teaching music at a █
█ school for disabled children before founding his █
█ own music therapy practice; by the 1990s Adorney █
█ was additionally composing New Age-influenced █
█ instrumental material, eventually landing three █
█ pieces on the 1998 Domo compilation Reflections. █
█ The exposure brought him to the attention of the █
█ EverSound label, and later that same year Adorney █
█ issued his debut LP, Beckoning. Other Shore █
█ appeared in late summer 2001. █
