| | On the B-side, we bring you yet another | |
| | highly talented group with a very prolific | |
| | history in the drum & bass scene - Aquasky. | |
| | With a multitude of releases on labels | |
| | including Moving Shadow, Reinforced, Botchit | |
| | & Scarper and of course their own Sonix, | |
| | Incident and Passenger imprints, Aquasky are | |
| | certainly no new comers and are currently | |
| | working on their 6th album as we speak. | |
| | | |
| | Strobe Light injects a slightly tougher edge | |
| | to the album with its pounding bassline and | |
| | slapping beats. Sublime filtered chords | |
| | represent the backbone of the track, coupled | |
| | with echoes acid stabs and short vocal hooks. | |
| | A reece-style twist halfway through takes | |
| | things a little harder still, and combines to | |
| | make this a totally energetic experience that | |
| | is guaranteed to rock the dancefloor! | |
| | | |
| | Flip over to the O-side, for a truly | |
| | exquisite roller courtesy of Blue Sonix. | |
| | Utilising luscious rhodes chords, cut up | |
| | vocals and sultry saxophone licks, Move Up | |
| | Close has a real late-night, early-morning | |
| | feel about it. The fat beats and deep | |
| | bassline roll along with ease, added later by | |
| | wah wah guitar riffs and keyboard solos. | |
| | | |
| | On the D0Side, we welcome back label owner | |
| | Fellowship, with his first release in over 6 | |
| | months. So Real is a very powerful track with | |
| | a fat, gritty break and bass & chord stabs | |
| | that open the proceedings. Vocal hooks add to | |
| | the build up before the drop, where a killer | |
| | sub bass riff comes in that is certain to get | |
| | the crowd moving. This track has been a | |
| | personal favorite of Bryan Gee's and it's | |
| | easy to see why. | |
| | | |
| | Finally, we present an up-and-coming artist | |
| | from Helsinki called Dice. A pioneer of the | |
| | Finnish drum & Bass scene, Dice has had | |
| | releases on Moving Shadow, Formation and his | |
| | very own Mango Funk label, with the next | |
| | single featuring none other than Peshay. Dice | |
| | is also part of the Breakwater Crew, who | |
| | focus on live Drum & Bass performances. | |
| | | |
| | Gimme Your Love is an absolute roller with | |
| | cascading filtered chord riffs and superb | |
| | uplifting vocal hooks. The driving beats give | |
| | the track its momentum, but it's the bassline | |
| | that does the damage with its totally | |
| | addictive groove. An excellent debut from | |
| | this talented producer, who I am sure we'll | |
| | hear more from this year. | |
| | | |

| | sheet for each plate! Still, unusually, the | |
| | info sheet was mostly devoid of spelling | |
| | mistakes and the tunes are mostly worthy of | |
