The dotty new album from Aussie prog-pop outfit Pivot arrives on Warp Records...
Aussie post-rock types Pivot follow their single 'In The Blood' with a
full-length album for Warp Records . Entitled O Soundtrack My Heart.
Pivot first formed in the late 1990s, and released their acclaimed but
little-heard debut LP Make Me Love You in 2005. A year later, London-based David
Miller joined up, prompting "a period of intense creatibe activity" that saw the
band (now a trio of Miller, Richard Pike, Laurenz Pike) refine their own music
and also collaborate with the likes of Prefuse 73, Flanger, Savath & Savalas,
Qua, Jan Jelinek, Burnt Friedman and Damo Suzuki.
On O Soundtrack My Heart Pivot harness their love of Vangelis, Autechre and
Talking Heads into a stirring, occasionally melodramatic brand of prog-pop that
the band themselves describe as the sound of "apocalyptic joy".
Enjoy!
