█ The Qckvu Image Server project is designed █
█ to convert Qckvu from a typical viewing █
█ application to a server where the image █
█ is not displayed on screen but sent to █
█ another application. █

█ Commands that would normally be entered █
█ using a mouse or the keyboard are sent from █
█ the client to the qckvu server via a TCP/IP █
█ socket. The client program can request data █
█ such as a list of layers or structures and █
█ can at any time request an "image" - █
█ essentially a bitmap that represents what █
█ would normally have gone to the screen. █

█ The client can also send "state" commands █
█ such as turning layers on and off, assigning █
█ fill patterns to layers and changing the █
█ display window size, coordinates and █

█ to display and manipulate very large GDSII █

█ into Qckvu; the TCP/IP approach means that █
█ only the API need be understood by the █
█ client program and that the server and the █

█ The Qckvu Image Server (QIS) will enable █
█ remote viewing of very large GDSII files; █
█ we believe that QIS will be useful for IC █
█ fabs and mask shops to allow clients to █
█ view and measure critical data without the █
█ need to transmit large data files. █

█ With the release of QIS version 2.09 we █
█ now offer offline processing of GDSII files. █
█ What is offline processing? Before you █
█ can view a GDSII file QIS must scan the █
█ entire file to build a table of the hierarchy █
█ and then must create and load a quad tree █
█ into memory. For large GDSII files this an █
█ be extremely time consuming - as much as █
█ an hour or two for files in excess of 15GB!. █
█ Offline processing does the scanning and █
█ quadtree building separately and stores the █
█ results on disk -- thus enabling one to █
█ open a large file for viewing in seconds. █
█ This feature is of special interest to OEMs █
█ of mask and wafer inspection equipment. █

█ operate on two levels, one with shareware cracking █
█ and one with DONGLE cracking. You do not need to █
█ master them both when you apply - but there is █
█ nothing that says you can't either. █

█ If you apply as a DONGLE cracker, then we require █
█ that you have basic knowledge in any of these █
