a ltd. edition pressing of a commisioned work for dutch radio. the
second in the series (see d. nepal/in slaughter nat.) reyes
presents six beautiful, haunting ethnic mantras with intricate
percussion, somber synthetics, and chanting that seems almost
north american indian at times, although it is presumably inspired
by the aztecs? i'm not exactly sure what he does to treat the
vocals beside obvious pan-delay & reverb, but they really jump out
at you - filling the room in an almost 3-d way. track 6
"improvization" is just that - 20 minutes of live material for the
radio show - and is a little more repetitve than the other 5
tracks, but effective nevertheless. now i have to start
backcataloguing this guy... that's going to cost...
i'm so sorry, there was no catalog # available...
