Oh yes - more lethal business from the mighty
Convextion - this time a killer 4-tracker for Arne
Weinberg's AW imprint. Head straight for the
immense "Laconic" on the A-Side, those
unmistakable Convextion pads and fuzzy synths
making every effort to turn their surroundings
into a deep shade of blue - a neon flicker of
engrossing, lush 4/4 that's once again in perfect
equilibrium for the sounds of Detroit and Berlin.
Incredible stuff. "Salmo" on the flip is even
better - a squashed square bassline edging the
track into a more propulsive current, those
twilight keys doing their thing so well over that
engulfing low-end. So so good to have this guy
making records once again - following on from the
craziness surrounding the release of his album
late last year and the more recent "Miranda"
doublepack you'll all no doubt be aware that any
record bearing the Convextion insignia just
doesn't last.
