:| Martyn / Harmonic 313 - Producer No.1 EP |:
: :
*ANOTHER MIGHTY REMIX FROM MARTYN, WITH SOME SUPER-DEEP
PRODUCTIONS FROM MARK PRITCHARD'S HARMONIC 313!* Stones
Throw regular Guilty Simpson crops up for the increasingly
on-point Fat City label outta Manchester, with a couple of
killer cuts remixed by Harmonic 313's Mark Pritchard and
the inimitable Martyn. As everyone worth their pristine
white Air Force 1's knows, Detroit is the current capital
of US hiphop, hence Mr Simpson's little ode to the motor
City on 'For the D' with a list of shout outs to his crew
past and present, but it's really the production here that
has got us going. Slotting in nicely with the post-bump
synth driven sound of Rustie/Flylo/Samiyam etc. Pritchard
tailors a sharp bleeping synthline for his Ghetto-slow
rhythm and coming up with a pure club heating joint in the
process. The 12" only gets better when you hit the other
side and the burnished genius of Martyn's remix of Black
Pocket's 'u're a star', hitting the emotional 2-step spot
dead on with quite possibly his finest production to date,
i know we say this every week, but seriously, check this
one out!!! Very Highly Recommended.
