Release Notes:
Allez Allez has been a leading band of the Belgian
80s alternative music. Often linked to the new wave
scene, their songs werenÆt that new wave at all,
but they were for sure innovative for that decade.
Allez Allez had a very eclectic sound with a
multitude of influences. I would define their sound
as a mix of funky bass lines, pop structures and an
approximate new wave style of singing. The female
vocals of this band have been always an essential
part of their work. The main song and hit ôAllez
Allezö entered into the Belgian history of music
and still remains a damned efficient song! Other
famous tracks were ôAfrican Queenö and the moody
ôValley Of The Kingsö. These songs now havenÆt a
similar impact, but itÆs fun to hear them back.
Notice that this album looks like a double LP, but
includes one vinyl on the left and the full-cd
attached to the right side. As a bonus we get 4
remixes, which are dance adaptations of ôAfrican
queenö, ôAllez Allezö and ôSheÆs Stirring Upö. ItÆs
a good surplus for this æbest ofÆ, which will for
sure please all lovers of this band and other 80s
fans.
