█ █▓░█ I can hardly believe that it's been 16 years since █░▓█ █
█ █▓░█ the Stereo MCs debut album "Connected". An album █░▓█ █
█ █▓░█ which they are still best remembered for. "Step It █░▓█ █
█ █▓░█ Up"; "Ground Level" & "Creation" were all hit singles █░▓█ █
█ █▓░█ but the one most people will know is the title track █░▓█ █
█ █▓░█ "Connected" which was their biggest hit & got used in █░▓█ █
█ █▓░█ a phone advert for ages, familiarising newer █░▓█ █
█ █▓░█ generations with their unique sound. Of course █░▓█ █
█ █▓░█ they've never really been away, releasing four other █░▓█ █
█ █▓░█ consistently good albums in the interim, the last of █░▓█ █
█ █▓░█ which was "Paradise" a couple of years back. I don't █░▓█ █
█ █▓░█ think I'm exaggerating when I say that to call their █░▓█ █
█ █▓░█ new album "Double Bubble" a return to form would be █░▓█ █
█ █▓░█ an extreme understatement & comparing it with their █░▓█ █
█ █▓░█ debut "Connected", it's easy to see just how far █░▓█ █
█ █▓░█ they've come. Not only in terms of songwriting & █░▓█ █
█ █▓░█ musicality but also they've moved with the times as █░▓█ █
█ █▓░█ far as technology goes. Their sound is bang up to █░▓█ █
█ █▓░█ date & you could easily drop anything from this in to █░▓█ █
█ █▓░█ a set of modern club classics such as Daft Punk & █░▓█ █
█ █▓░█ Chemical Brothers. Highlights include "Get It On"; █░▓█ █
█ █▓░█ "Black Gold"; "The Here & Now"; "(Gringo) Ragged & █░▓█ █
█ █▓░█ Ruthless" & from the "bonus Bubble" disc there's █░▓█ █
█ █▓░█ "Joy"; Soul Girl" & "You Got It All". All of these █░▓█ █
█ █▓░█ are potential hits, that's seven! when all that most █░▓█ █
█ █▓░█ bands can muster is three per album. Those are the █░▓█ █
█ █▓░█ highlights, though there's not one duff song out of █░▓█ █
█ █▓░█ all the 17 tracks here. Highly recommended! Stereo █░▓█ █
