██▌▄▀█ DJ Yoda ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ DJ Yoda, signed to Antidote Records tells us about ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ his route to success and it isn't what you might ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ expect - he confesses that he started making music ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ for a laugh and didn't take it particularly ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ seriously. He confesses that he still doesn't! ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ DJ Yoda is resident at The Social and plays ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ fortnightly. ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ ░██▌▄▀

██▌▄▀█ Calexico ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ Calexico are half way through their current tour ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ having already played their Irish dates and one of ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ their UK dates to very satisfied audiences. ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ Last month they released their third album 'Feast of ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ Wire'.s ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ The album sees them refining their already special ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ brand of Americana but they go much further to ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ include some "àjazz, Hispanic fiesta, Debussy/Satie ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ piano sketches as well as Tex Mex, Mariachi and ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ filmic moods for which they are renowned." ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ The album is out on City Slang Records but was ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ recorded hundreds of miles away from city life - ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ Tucson, Arizona. This surely provides the influence ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ for the sounds they produce. ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ Calexico have received astounding reviews from the ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ press - the Guardian have told us about "à the ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ exotic world of Calexico, where bonanza meets ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ beatnik and the spirit of adventure flourishes in a ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ dusty, expansive landscape."! ░██▌▄▀

██▌▄▀█ Fourtet ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ Kieren Hebden has been busy. In his 25 years he has ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ released 8 albums! - Some were solo projects as ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ Fourtet and some were with his band Fridge. ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ In the past 2 years he has been to almost every ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ country worth visiting and has worked with almost ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ every artist you'd want to. ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ As part of Fridge he toured alongside Radiohead in ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ Spain and Portugal and went to the States with the ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ Super Furry Animals. ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ As Fourtet he toured Europe on a grand scale and ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ visited the States again for Coldcut's Solid Steel ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ US DJ tour; there's more - he did a tour of Brazil ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ with Madlib and was in attendance at the massive ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ Benicassim festival in Spain. ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ While all of this was occurring Fourtet was writing ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ and producing his third album. ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ His debut solo album was 'Dialogue' and it focused ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ on free jazz, soul and funk. 'Pause', Hebden's ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ second album served to "àkick off the folktronic ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ trend with its psych-folk and pastoral acid rock ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ loveliness". So it's safe to say he's covered a fair ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ bit of ground. In contrast, his third album 'Rounds' ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ which comes out on 5th May has been described as the ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ album "Where he beautifully, uniquely comes into his ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ own" ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ Fourtet is also currently producing Beth Orton's ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ latest album. ░██▌▄▀
