Zorn (no relation to John Zorn) is a Berlin based musician who has
been catching many peoples attention since his debut album "Tower
Park" on the Berlin based label of Lux Nigra in 2000. Yet it was
Zorn's next album which would catch everyone's attention and
perhaps give the finest example of Zorn's musical essence. The
album consists of twelve tracks of well produced techno with rich
melodies and a subconscious catchiness which is hard to fight. It's
hard to explain what style this album would belong and perhaps that
is what makes it so good, it captures many sounds ranging from IDM,
Techno to Ambient. The tracks that stuck out the most for me would
be "Schatten Und Staub" and "The City's Collapsing But Not
Tonight". Schatten Und Staub starts off with a curious melody which
immediately catches the listener's attention and later forces them
to the dance floor the minute the disjointed beats begin to ooze
from the melodies. "The City's Collapsing But Not Tonight" is in a
different vein than "Schatten Und Staub" and has more of relaxing
feel to it. With a track like this one would welcome a city's
collapse, soft melodies, pianos and beats to move the people to new
horizons outside the rotting metropolis. --krackmonster.com
