Born on April 29, 1959, Christophe Mourthe begins to twenty years as a
photographer of theatre and music hall. It runs alongside the greatest
players and most importantly meeting, when travelling through Europe
with the greatest directors in theatre and cinema: Franco Zeffirelli,
Peter Stein, Giorgio Strehler, Dario Fo, Peter Brook or Federico
Fellini. When asked today what are its masters, he cites preferably in
Newton or Doisneau. In 1983, he fixed between Paris and Venice and
meets Denis Menendez, engineering authentic makeup and hairstyling. For
their complicity born the famous "Casanovas" androgynous characters of
a seventeenth century decadent, directed in Venetian palaces under
lights twilight.
