Hailing from Hamilton, Ontario, Circuit For The Blackout joins a prospering
music scene with such bands as Alexisonfire, Silverstein, Billy Talent and Dead
and Divine just to name a few. But in an area with so many other bands all
trying to copy the successful band of the week, Circuit For The Blackout stands
head and shoulders above the sea of mediocrity.
A band where each member isnÆt trying to play louder than everyone else, CFTB
has a vibe and maturity of a band of twice their age, and displays songwriting
of epic proportions. Vocalist Josh Tiller has a voice with so much intensity,
pain, and character, yet still sounds sweet when partnered with the chiming
clean and distorted guitars, and backed up by a creative rhythm section that
does more than just keep a backbeat.
On standout tracks suck as ôThe Taste of Youö and ôIn Memory Ofö, lyrically the
band shines with vivid descriptions of the pain of loss and dealing with the
pressures faced because of it. Smart yet real, the lyrics evoke real feelings
within the listener that they canÆt help but relate to.
