The French composer Luc Ferrari, a major explorer
of the experimental borderland of musique concrΦte,
instrumental music and hoerspiel and a true pioneer
in the aesthetics of field recording, died in
September 2005.
In homage to Ferrari, this piece refers to his practice
of ôMusique anecdotiqueö: everyday sounds recorded
within a given period of time are examined in order
to realise their musical potential, while the chance
encounter of fragments of dialogue might start
narratives in the listenerÆs imagination without ever
spelling them out.
