African Classics: Fallou Dieng
SLCD 152
An elder statesman and formidable talent of the ônew generationö of Senegalese
artists emerging from the rich legacy left by the countryÆs most famous son,
Youssou N DOUR. Known as öle Roi de lÆambianceö for creating some of DakarÆs
more outrageously provocative mbalax dances, he is the best known and most
popular of these ôYoungstersö.
Beautiful crafted music, where relentless, random polyrythms of mbalax contrast
perfectly with FallouÆs lyrical & versatile voice in the wolof tradition.
Fallou Dieng was Mentored by Youssou n Dour.
