This release contains material from two very different Miles Davis concerts. The
first is from New York in 1959 and features Miles with his quintet, including
John Coltrane on tenor sax, accompanied by the Gil Evans Orchestra. The second
was filmed in Karlsruhe, Germany in 1967 and features what is, arguably, his
greatest line-up: Wayne Shorter on tenor, Herbie Hancock on piano, Ron Carter on
bass .
