Polished Audio starts as a new label for classy house and techno and is run by
Southern German artist Mikdat who has already released on Kassette records and
Schieber. For release number 001 the label has signed house-afficionado Drei
Farben House from Berlin. On "In A Silent Turn" he begins with wonderfully deep
and melodic house which is built on cadenced chords, warm pads and guitar-ish
sounds. For the remix Liefko (Afrilounge) turn the track into a long, slowly
building journey which perfectly blends German minimalism and New-Jersey house
feeling. "Deuce" shows Drei Farben House's dubbier side with manifold percussion
sounds and a dubby bass, but when the subtle chords and stabs kick in there it
is again, that classic house vibe which no one knows to induce like Drei Farben
House. Der Thal takes his remix of "Deuce" into chord-driven territory where you
just wish the synth would never stop playing. A very promising kick-off for
Polished Audio.
