▒▓██▓ on Highpoint Lowlife, Stray Ghost's "Losthilde" album ░█▓▒
▒▓██▓ is a slow burning dense combination of doom-laden ░█▓▒
▒▓██▓ ambient noise and delicate beauty. ░█▓▒
▒▓██▓ ░█▓▒
▒▓██▓ An album in four musical movements, the pieces move ░█▓▒
▒▓██▓ from the tranquil, progressing through ever noisier ░█▓▒
▒▓██▓ elements towards a crescendo of over-driven textural ░█▓▒
▒▓██▓ feedback and minute sound detail. It's an elaborate ░█▓▒
▒▓██▓ journey of catharsis and exorcism born in the ░█▓▒
▒▓██▓ loneliness springing from separation. The opening ░█▓▒
▒▓██▓ chords of ôThereÆs an ocean between us, part oneö ░█▓▒
▒▓██▓ were the first to be written and set the tone for the ░█▓▒
▒▓██▓ entire album, which was recorded in chronological ░█▓▒
▒▓██▓ order, and follows to some degree a fictional ░█▓▒
▒▓██▓ narrative which mirrored Ant/Stray Ghost's personal ░█▓▒
▒▓██▓ state of mind at the time. ░█▓▒
▒▓██▓ ░█▓▒
▒▓██▓ Etymology - "Saudade", the name of the two later ░█▓▒
▒▓██▓ pieces on the album, is a Portuguese term for a ░█▓▒
▒▓██▓ feeling of great separation, a longing for someone ░█▓▒
▒▓██▓ who is essential to your existence, and who is lost. ░█▓▒
▒▓██▓ It often carries a fatalist tone and a repressed ░█▓▒
▒▓██▓ knowledge that the object of longing might never ░█▓▒
▒▓██▓ return. ░█▓▒
▒▓██▓ ░█▓▒
▒▓██▓ The title "Losthilde" is a portmanteau, which has no ░█▓▒
▒▓██▓ meaning, or indeed existence, outside of this usage, ░█▓▒
▒▓██▓ an amalgamation of "Lost" and "Mathilde" the latter ░█▓▒
▒▓██▓ being the name of Stray Ghost's "lost" partner. ░█▓▒
