     Self-Inflicted Insomnia?  Early hour living room sessions?  It's   
     about time for a new chill out compilation...                      
     Welcome to the fourth chill out album from Hed Kandi.  Serve       
     Chilled 2 was released last April a good few months before we were 
     burried under an avalanche of summer chill out albums mostly       
     featuring the name of a certain Balearic isle.  Now with a few     
     months past and those long cold nights upon us here is the second  
     in our Winter Chill series!                                        
     Winter Chill differs from the Serve Chilled releases in that it    
     reflects the season and contains a slightly darker selection.      
     Included within this selection are some very well known tracks,    
     some favourites from the Hed Kandi playlist and a few that you may 
     not have come across before - the perfect Hed Kandi compilation.   
     We start with a new track from Afterlife; this is one of three new 
     tracks included on the Simplicity Two Thousand album that Hed Kandi
     released in September.  It showcases perfectly Rachel Lloyd's      
     beautiful voice and Steve Miller's superb production skills.  The  
     Winter Chill sound on CD1 is typified by the tracks that follow    
     with a generous selection of darker beats, strings and big         
     choruses.  A slightly more eastern feel finds it's way onto the    
     latter half of the CD with amazing tracks from A Guy Called Gerald,
     The Thievery Corporation and Aware.  Last mention on the content of
     CD1 must go to the Urban Dwellers who have risen from the ashes of 
     The Jazz Vandall's and supply the menacing Russian Roulette, look  
     out for their debut album in 2001.                                 
     CD2 pursues a slightly different sound and we won't try and define 
     it as there are elements of jazz, soul, funk, ambient and dub in   
     there.  One thing that does stand out is the input from Studio K7 a
     German label that is going from strength to strength.  From the    
     dreamy beats of Tosca to the cool beats of Terranova.  It's an     
     example of how unadventurous major labels are getting when Smith & 
     Mighty (one of the true dance innovators) are signed to a non-UK   
     label!  Further along the listing we've included a remix of        
     Motorcity by 45 Dip.  Their album was due for release at the       
     beginning of Hed Kandi but sample clearance and other problems held
     it up until October this year when it was finally released to      
     critical acclaim.  45 Dip are two ex-members of Marden Hill and    
     their dark twisted beats make the album an essential for those who 
     enjoy a real head-trip at 5am.                                     
     So here we are at the end of the sleevenotes for the last release  
     from Hed Kandi this year.  It's just over an 18 months since we    
     launched the label and it has exceeded our wildest expectations.   
     While you chill out to this selection we'll be feverishly making   
     plans for 2001.  Compilations were just the start and with         
     Afterlife and 45 Dip achieving critical and commercial success it  
     looks like we'll be releasing even more artist material next year. 
     We will also be touring extensively bringing the Hed Kandi sound to
     your local dancefloor or chill out lounge!  Remember to keep an eye
