Our first stop drives us back to the ever boiling Hungarian scene,
with Budapest's deep house honcho, Marcel. Keep an eye on your
favourite publication as he has recently released a new LP with
"On The Beach" in its original version starring famous local
theatre actor, Balage. A perfect start for this end summer col-
lection. Next is already an anthem by none other than Bristollian
trippy sorcerers, Smith & Mighty, with the lazy "Same" sung by the
ever sensuous Tammy Payne. A Short stop in Paris gives you the
opportunity to get another blend of the so called French touch,
via Ypey's experimentations, on a dark ambient funk tune called
"Yoswalda". Like it? Yes you do, as you will also take a slice
of this delicious Northern English "Apple Pie Hubbub" cooked by
new Pork Recordings signee Moss. The name of Ian Simmonds should
ring a bell for most of you, as he started in the first half of
the 90's as the key member of progressive acid-jazz outfit, The
Sandals. Check out his latest work under the name of Juryman on
Belgian label, SSR/Crammed Discs, the home of DJ Morpheus: this
being one of the numerous illustrations of his work as a true
architect of the third millenium groove.
Look around and you will see many things originating from all over
the world. This one, like the John Landis Fans on Codachromes 1,
comes from the Spanish stable known as Cosmos Records. Same
spirit (an old Manta Ray's song which has been revamped by Funk
Empire), but completely different vibe. This is the rock side of
this current trip. Still with us? Good. Coz next is the work of
another German group that we consider as one of last year's reve-
lations, twistin' the Latin vibes from a proper ambient jazz/funk
perspective. It's name Karma says it all, doesn't it? The Amal-
gamation Of Soundz, as Marcel, were already on Codachromes 1 with
their infamous "The World", a vocal song starring Yvonne Webblay.
Here we go with the jazzy housey "Kayvan's Paper (Document 1)",
another work that fully shows the depth and the versatility of the
tantuous English/Persian pair. Another trip accross the Channel
leads us this time to the Belgian shores, in Antwerp, where local
sensation, Dirk Swartenbroekx, better known as Buscemi, hails
from. He's another true twister in his own right, mixing bossa
beats with a bit of house and elements of D&B over a delicate
choice of appropriate samples. Back on the blocks with a new
offering entitled Swat, INFRAcom!'s artist Marschmellows, continue
on his bossa tip with the classic "Reloaded" from their Rebound
debut LP issued in 1998. Last but not least, we cross the Atlan-
tic with the latest collaboration between 'Chi-lite', Ron Trent
now based in Brooklyn, and the evergreen percussionnist, Sundiata
O.M. with "Paradise", a track which has been around for a while on
a very limited white label which marks the end of this current
     voyage.
