     A Thousand and one arabian nights meet 2001. Shaft and sweetback   
     get rolled into one. Hip Hop and Hippie Soul go hand in hand. Trios
     and orchestras mingle with saxaphones and sitars. All this and more
     can and will be experienced during a night out at the Mojo and, for
     that matter, on this compilation. From the very beginning Mojo has 
     been a jazzy club with a psychoafrolatinofunkadelic edge. So it    
     only made sense that "One Nation Under A Groove" was the motto of  
     the club's 5th anniversary celebrations. Held on Hamburg hometurf  
     in February '94 they included a typically subtle combination of    
     special guest DJ parties and four day exhibition of memorabilia    
     from half a decade of the big M and its surrounding scene. Hints of
     their new clothing line (Mojo Merchandise feat. "Tough Classics",  
     "Paris Blues" and "Mr. Tibbs' Old School"), photos from many a hero
     that played the club, the original Mojo comic and plenty of        
     soulfood were served against a musical backdrop of more than 100   
     hours of "The Chase" - The club's radio show. The event put Mojo   
     firmly back on the cultural map of the city. Not that it had ever  
     left. Since its birth on February 11th 1989 Mojo - The idea has    
     grown into Mojo - The Club, - The Shop, - The Compilation Series, -
     The Radio Show and - The Fashion Line. It comes as no suprise that 
     the club is seen as source and constant "fountain of youth" for its
     particular German scene. Nonetheless, as the subtitle for this     
     third excursion into the musical mayhem they call "dancefloor jazz"
     admit, there is still a lot of work to do.
