╗╗ Nothing Changes Under The Sun, the debut album from ╗╗
╗╗ Englishman Andy Dragazis (Blue States a.k.a), sounds ╗╗
╗╗ like the best album Air never made. That's not a rip ╗╗
╗╗ on Dragazis per se; just a realization of the obvious ╗╗
╗╗ affinity both outfits share for blissful pop melodies, ╗╗
╗╗ cinematic symphonics, and sci-fi lounge music of the ╗╗
╗╗ Esquivel-on-E variety. Though Dragazis pays homage to ╗╗
╗╗ his influences in much the same way as his French ╗╗
╗╗ counterparts (enough already about the Air), the album ╗╗
╗╗ does exhibit moments of individuality throughout. The ╗╗
╗╗ dusty guitar textures of "Arion" evoke images of ╗╗
╗╗ post-modern space cowboys riding off into technicolor ╗╗
╗╗ sunsets; "Stereo 99" matches a peppy waltz rhythm with ╗╗
╗╗ lush and dramatic keyboards refrains; and the ╗╗
╗╗ lackadaisical "Spit And Soar" boasts the dreamiest ╗╗
╗╗ guitar melodies this side of Tortoise. There may not ╗╗
╗╗ be much new ground broken on Nothing Changes, but ╗╗
╗╗ Dragazis crafts an exquisite album of romantic ╗╗
╗╗ downbeat tunes that's easy on the ears and soothing to ╗╗
