family had emigrated to England two years earlier in 1961.It was while
Trevor was doing various jobs before getting his calling that he brought
himself a guitar and taught himself to play.
IJahman formed his own twelve-piece band called The Vibration in 1965 in
which he was the lead singer. Ijahman's singing career took a large step
forward in 1966when he performed at the Q Club in London, he competed with

of his performance many leading recording companies approached him and he
agreed to record two singles, one for Polydor and Decca.

was following this success that he was approached by Les Palmer who was
then working at Island records to contribute his voice on the album Man
from Warika with Rico Rodrigues, bringing with it the attention of the
music produce Chris Blackwell who immediately offered him a contract to
produce two albums in 1976.
In1977 IJahman went to Jamaica to work with the Late Geffrey Chung to

recording company "Tree Roots Record International"with the Jahmani Label
and severed his ties with Island Records. In 1981 IJahman married his duet
partner Madge. In 1985the duet produced the hit single " I do " which was

of world tours to packed venues.
