Another year has passed...It's been a hard year for the scene. The feds are
being after us all, and still are, no matter if we are here "juss fi buil'
a likkle vibe"... Regardless of that, YARD stands strong, perhaps even
stronger than ever. Many new motivated members, loyal sites, nice releases.
We proved once more that we care for reggae music and doing our best to
bring this unique music from a small island to all music lovers in the scene.
Jamaica is a country of only a few million people, and still over 100
singles get released there per week! Plus all the reggae from England,
France, Germany, Africa... There is still a lot to do!
This year has been a very good one for the mp3 scene in general, or rather
for the part of it that really cares for music and not for promo-whoring.
The VBR standard helps bringing out music in a better soundquality, and YARD
of course supports that. Another scene effort for the sake of music has
recently been started in form of the Non-Mainstream Music Report, initiated
by our friends in HiT2000, and YARD uses that platform to bring the attention
on the most interesting reggae releases out there.
Now the 5th year of YARD existance is coming. We've been through good and
bad times, but here we are, still standing tall and bringing you irie vibes.
Big up all the members who have been loyal to us from the start! Big up all
the people who joined us during the last year and are making a major effort for
our crew! Big up all siteops of our affils, who have been loyal and helpful!
Big up certain people in the mp3 scene for giving us their trust and letting
us participate in many things, you know who you are. We are family!
Large up goes also to YARDVID, our movie section that celebrated its 1st
anniversary a week ago. From a vague thought it developed to a groundbreaking
group, pioneering the reggae music video and carribean movie scene! We in
YARDMP3 are very fond of you guys! Keep it going.
At the same time, our deepest condolences are with CHR. They lost their
founder, Mr.Wax, in an accident recently. He was a great and helpful person,
and we wish his family, his friends and his groupmates all the best. May
he rest in peace!
And now enjoy our birthday releases, and expect another year of good vibes
from the YARD family.
