Blessed be the man that Walketh not In the counsel of the
Ungodly. Nor standeth in the ways of Sinners. Nor sitteth
in the seat of the Scornful. For I delight is in RAC
Therefore I&I must be like a tree Planted by the rivers
of Water. And bringeth forth Fruit in due season.
And what so ever I doeth shall Prosper
The weakhearted are Not so, Oh no!
They are like the Chaff that the wind Driveth away.
Therefore no weakheartman Shall stand in the Judgement
Nor no Sinners in the congregation of the Righteous.
RAC knoweth the ways of the Righteous
And know that the ways of the Weakheart shall crumble,
paralyse and Burn

The Wailing Souls have been making their unique brand of
reggae music since the early '60s, but it was during the
'70s that they made their mark with their many recordings on
the Channel One label. What made them unique back then was
that they were a vocal quartet rather than a trio. Also,
lead singer Winston "Pipe" Matthews has a style and voice
quality remarkably similar to their contemporary Bob Marley.
Like Marley, Peter Tosh, Jimmy Cliff and others, the Souls
got their start in the Kingston ghetto. The heart and soul
of the group was and still is Matthews and Lloyd "Bread"
McDonald.
In their first incarnation McDonald and Matthews were known
as the Renegades, and recorded for Clement "Coxsone" Dodd's
Studio One and Marley's Tuff Gong label. The Renegades came
together in 1965 and were comprised of Matthews, McDonald
and Buddy Haye.Their first single was called "Lost Love." It
was not the first time in the studio for Matthews, who had
waxed a few singles including "Little Dilly" at age 12 with
the Schoolboys for Prince Buster in the early '60s.
Eventually the Renegades went to Coxsone for an audition.
